How to increase odometer mileage?

I want to increase the mileage on my car from 20,000 to 100,000 quickly and cheaply ( not have to buy gas) as well as not damage the vehicle. Any suggestions, and is this legal?

Answer #1

It depends on the car. If it has a physical speed cable, you could disconnect it from the trans, chuck it into a drill and let the drill run for days. I’m not sure if it is legal. Suppose you find a way to get the speedometer to register 120 mph for a long time.

Answer #2

I want to ship it to another country where custom taxes is 2X what its worth. I don’t necessarily mean to play with the odometer itself, but just from the forward motion of the wheels like on a treadmill

Answer #3

No it’s not legal to change the odometer readings…tho most people want to lower it, not make it higher.

Why do you want to add 80,000 miles to your car??
