How to dress Gothic and meet more of us ?

Hi Im 34 and NOT depressed! I have an inner desire to become Gothic. Its always been there. I just havent really felt like I’ve been able to do anything about it as I’ve always lived and been someone Im not (to make my peers happy) I really would like to hear from other Gothic people on how to Dress Gothic. Id really also like to meet other Goths as well.

I have a business to run so I cant go the full Goth look straight away as I dont want to loose customers -because as you know “Society” thinks we’re freaks! Little do they know!

Im wanting to be gothic for my own happiness as I am a free thinker and have always thought outside the square. Please your thoughts on how I can Dress Gothic would be much appreciated Im a tall bald guy so I cant dye my hair black ,because I shave it. I live in the South Perth area.

  1. You can wear anything, normally band tees or cool patterend button up shirts like striped or colored ones. Black jeans, skinny or not, stud belts, and doc marten boots or shoes, or black dress shoes. A bit of eyeliner is okay. My dad just wears a bit and he looks really intimidating and cool! Rings like skull rings look so cool! Also belt buckles with cool designs are awesome!
  2. There are so many versions of goth. Don’t let people say there is only one. There is -angel goth: wear lace, and white and gold things with dark patterns. Looks Victorian wedding
  • happy goth: you wear lots of colors with black skinny jeans and doc marten boots
  • preppy goth: you wear lots of preppy plaid and argyle sweater vests with black shirts and jeans and mostly boots
  • Lolita goth: all visual kei (look it up) Japanese styledclothes. Looks very medieval and Shakespeare, and usually wear burgundy navy brown or white, and women wear knee length dresses that poof out with lace and corsets, white loose longsleeves, hello kitty, usually wear pink and baby blue
  • rave goth: wear super wideleg pants in neon colors or black with chains and things hanging off of them, platforms boots, tight shorts like black wife beater tank tops, or band tees with corresponding colors that match pants
  • techno goth: wear rave pants with platform boots with unique, toob looking patterns on them, shirts are fancier, and usually have bright light up braceletts and rings. Or leather or vynel pants with unique platforms and fancier tops and rings
  • teen goth: black or leath skinny jeans, band tees, a leather jacket that is tight around the arms and chest with band pins and patches, boots or platforms, piercings, and rings/ a shit load of bracletts
  • Victorian goth: name says it all
  • pirate goth: name says it all
  • scene goth: wear teen goth clothes but with vans or converse, and tease hair (sorry) so it it big and poofy. Wear eyeliner. Etc etc etc there are so many!

well gothic people pretty much wear all black there are new sub genres of it now that wear more colours like neon colours but plain goths wear all black they generally are artistic and listen to alternative music too but it doesnt matter what you do or what you like alchemy gothic is a jewelry/merchandise store that sells many gothic things like clothes, jewelrey, belts, cups, ect you might want to check them out you dont have to conform to a single sterotype though if you dont want to its always good to be yourself and take different things from diferent sterotypes without having to call yourself one hot topic is a new age store that sells emo/“‘goth”” ect clothes but I would advise to stay away from them as its stuff aimed at kids and teenagers, and doesnt fit into the real gothic style sterotype at all, and a lot of the stuff looks rediculous anyway, at least on anyone whos not 14 years old and rebelling from there parents new rock and demonia are two very popular brands for gothic shoes and leather boots, new rock boots arnt cheap, but they are fantasic boots, I bought a $600 pair for $200 on ebay a while ago ebay is also a great place were you can look for gothic related clothes, jewelrey, shoes and anything else just type in the wotd goth and choose a catergory and youll have thousands of goth related things to choose from hope all this helped a bit
