Dressing Gothic?

I want to learn how to dress Goth/do the makeup. I love the style and the culture, I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

BTW. I have already read other questions, do not give me a string of bullshit on how I shouldn’t be a poser and stuff.

Answer #1

True, goth is WAY more than looks clothes, makeup, etc…. And if you were directing that to me underwaterophelia, I was saying that those are good stores to go to in general… I WASN’T saying that they’re “goth” stores. I’m considered gothic for more reasons than my appearance…

Answer #2

You can get really nice gothic clothes at hot topic!

In the meantime just dress black…all black:) And wear eyeliner:)

Answer #3

Hot Topic and Spencer’s are not places to find goth clothing. Go to thrift stores, make your own, whatever.

Being goth doesn’t have much to do with what you wear.

Answer #4

Haha. Asking how to be something is trying to fit into a mold. But your not a poser right? Okay. Sure.

Answer #5

okay, so maybe I shoulda been more specific… I’m not TRYING to BE Goth. I just want to know how to dress/do the makeup b/c I like it. I tend to live label-free, k?

Answer #6

…You just want to dress and do make up gothic like them?…Wow.

Plus, what kinda Goth do you want to be?…Cyber, Kinder, Candy…so on

Answer #7

I also agree 100% with sidewinder69… you ask someone how to be something but your not a poser? Right…

Answer #8

Ok I’m REALLY sorry if you get offended here but what the f*ck is your point?! You just want to know how to dress gothic and do gothic makeup… but you don’t want to BE gothic? Sorry but that makes no sense…

Answer #9

First of all… if you have to ask how to be something chances are you ARE a poser… don’t be offended by that but that’s usually the case. Second, Hot topic, Spencers are GREAT stores. I love them. Makeup… eyeliner, dark shadow, sometimes foundation or nail ploish. Bottom line here is just be yourself. If your gothic, that’s cool… I’m also considered gothic. I’ve always been into gothic things. You shouldn’t need other people’s help… just do everything yourself. Get creative with your makeup and clothes. Being yourself and not changing for anyone is key.

Answer #10

First off, Im gothic, and a lot of people cant tell. Being gothic is not looking gothic, but more. ok, enough of crap…I apologize. Alright, goths tend to be interested in silver jewlery, sometimes with certain rubies and such. The Ankh, the cross…etc. Some goths are interested in Wiccan like me. I wear hell of a lot of pentacles. I wear black, lots of black lace. And red. Makeup plays a big part, so lots of black on the eyes, reds on the lips… Black hair, can also be red or blonde. White skin does not mean gothic, Im dark. Just be yourself, do what really makes you feel like yourself.

Answer #11

Thanks for agreeing with me aliceremixed… looks like I’m not the only one who knows the truth

Answer #12

And that’s when you call them a POSER… because that’s what they are in that case.

Answer #13

You can dress how goth people dress without being goth.

Maybe she just likes the style.

Answer #14
