How many times a day should my ten month old lab poop?

I have a ten month old Lab mix..up until the last few days he has been pooping up to 3 or 4 times a day..now he has only been pooping once or twice a day..and it’s takes forever to get him to do so..his diet is not very steady..because of the table food given to him in secret..on top of his dry dog food..I just thought because he is so large he would be pooping more often..is this healthy?..and should I be on the look out for little doggy surprizes around my house?

No, not at all…he just show no interest in going potty. I just wonder if it’s because he’s maturing?

I mean dogs will have their own rhythms, but generally they poop once or twice. I dont think size has anything to do with it. Babies poop a lot more frequently than adults… Is he expressing difficulty while going?

He is maturing, so will go from pooping 4 times a day, to eventually 2 times (give or take)…like ty said, every dog has it’s own rythym. If you changed dog foods to one that has less fillers (corn, soy etc)…they will also poop less.

If he’s showing no distress, then he’s fine…(and you have less to pick up :) )
