How do I stop my mouse from scratching off her fur?

I have a mouse, Alice, and she is roughly 2/2.5 years. Yes, she’s pretty old, but she was the healthiest of my, once, three mice. Over the past 6 months my other two, Eve and Dotty died (I miss them everyday!) and Alice has began scratching off her fur. My mum and I think it is because she has just been grieving them, that’s probably it, but is there anyway I can stop her from this? I’m beginning to see bare skin over her legs, chin and around eyes. Her chin was the first noticeable change. I reall don’t think I can go through getting another mouse, especially when I know the same thing will happen again. Is there any other way I can refrain her from scratching like this?

Ok, I’ll look into doing that. I’ve never done it before though so I’m no so sure if I should. Its also usually her teeth that are doing the scratching off. Perhaps if I put in some chewable objects?; carrots, wood? - I’d done it before they just never appeared to use it much.

I’m terribly sorry about your mice. to prevent poor Alice from scratching out all her fur why don’t you see if it’s a possibility to cut her nails. Good Luck!
