How do you make your dog stop scratching at the door when outside ?

They don’t do it when we’re outside, so I can’t just sit out there & spray them with water lol. Please don’t say just let them in, cause as soon as I let them outside to do their business they run to the other door & start scratching it. It’s gotten to the point that they dug into the door, all the paint is off, & sometimes the door comes open with little pressure even when locked.

I hate to say it but I don’t think there is a way to do it without puppy/dog training, or just stay out there with them. Sounds like they have anxiety issues. Are you or someone always around them?

Answer #2

No they just hate the weather.

Oh I see, may I suggest maybe calling a trainer and ask for suggestions or maybe even the dogs vet. Just trying to help
