How do I convince my dad to let me pierce my lip?

So im 17 in a few months..and I wanna get my lip pierced…my mom doesnt really care that much but my dad says no…hes stubborn…I told him that I know everything that I need to know to do it and clean it and prevent infection

Answer #1

I think you should just do it. I mean its not like you cant take it out…!!

Answer #2

show him you are mature and do research and find out thats its okay.

Answer #3

Thats not the point, it looks stupid and makes it harder to find a job. Now, finding a job nowadays is near impossible already, thats just going to make it worse. Sure you might have one now, but you’re not gonna have it forever. A peircing will just make it harder to find a job, makes you look stupid, etc.

Answer #4

ahaha I have my lip pierced and I have three jobs!! you will be able to find a job. it just depends on what type of job though and don’t ask him, just do it, that’s what I did! if your mum likes it and approves of it, make her back you up!

Answer #5

say after it heals you will take it around him and put it back in around your friends or anywhere else as long as he doesn’t see it he shouldn’t care rite?

Answer #6

it can damage your teeth. but if you want it bad enough that doesn’t matter. however, the job thing is a big issue. sure you can get a job with a lip pierced, but do you want to flip burgars or make real money? It doesn’t improve speech, it looks gross, can damage teeth, and your dad don’t approve. Think hard before you decide. that hole will be there for a long time to remind you of the decision you make. Think like an adult, not a child following a fad.

Answer #7

Ya, just do it I’m 14and got mine a couple months ago, I just had my mom take me when I went to visit her and my sister, and 3 weeks later it was healed so when I went back to my dad’s he threatened to pull it out, so whenever I’m around him I just take it out. Also you can get a job with one, just take it out at work and in the interview, and if you decide after you get it that you don’t like it leave it out and the whole will heal up.
