How can you differentiate between hunger and thirst?

K, so I read in an article that the message sent to the brain implying hunger and thirst are quit similar. If this is true how can you tell the difference between being hungry and being thirsty?

Answer #1

water suppresses hunger to an extent…

I think you answered your own question there by implying that their ‘quite’ similar and not exactly the same

Answer #2

actually like 90 percent of the time when your hungry you really thirsty I use to be hungry all the time so now before I eat I just drink one or two glasses of water and if im still hungry I eat & then drink one after you should be get at least 8 glasses a day.

Answer #3

When we are hungry the stomach and even abdomen feel empty and one feels a strong urge to eat which later subsides into weakness, when we are thirsty the mouth dries, there is often an unusual taste, exhaustion can ensue, though it can be overcome, and especially in heat it can lead to feeling like collapsing and even be nauseating, in the extreme people feel like fainting and do faint. Thirst is much more dangerous and death comes much sooner than hunger
