how can I tell if my cat is blind in one eye ?

hi, I have a male cat called BOY. he is about 19 years old,and deaf. he has one blue eye and one green eye. one day in the week he came in with dirt on his side as if he had had a fall or a knock of some sort, he seemed a little odd but I didnt worry too much then. I noticed the next day he kept jerking his head up to the left and would not eat. he is now eating.then I noticed that his blue eye seemed black and then it was sticky and half closed this has eased a bit now but is still black. could he have gone blind in that eye. he hasnt been out since and I am taking him to the vet a s a p but has this happened to anyone s cat. ?

Answer #1

its possible that he hurt his eye, because it wouldnt close up if he was going blind from something like old age so something has gotten in his eye or he could have walked into something and hurt it

Answer #2

Sounds like maybe an injury. it may or may not be permanent. Glad you’re taking him to the Vet. 19 is a VERY long life…and he sounds like he’s still hanging in there…
