what is the best house dog?

well i’ve been searching for a house dog, i adopted a yorkie but he is just really annoying and he wont listen to a word i say…so i was wondering if anybody knew of any dogs suitable for a house, small, and easy to train?

Answer #1

Any dog can be trained, you just have to be consistent. We will be getting a toy poodle soon, apparently they are easy to train and excellent house dogs. But really it depends on your personality and (not to be rude) I don’t see how you’ll be able to handle another dog if you are struggling with a yorkie…..

i plan on saling him…and i have been consistent…my husband and i both have been…and we’ve had him about two months now…lol

Well, Chihuahua’s are small, and smart. They can be yappy sometimes. but it all depends on if you train them correctly or not. My chihuahua only barks when someone pulls up in the drive way, if someone is walking through our yard, or if someone she doesn’t know comes into the house. This can be a good thing though, kind of like a guard dog. I think chihuahua’s are really easy to train, because they catch on very quick. It didn’t take long to potty train ours, and teach it to sit. It also responds to it’s name, and if you point at something it will look. Also, if you tell it to look out the window, it will hop up onto the back of the couch and look out the window. It all depends on how and if you train them, whether or not they will be a good house dog. :)

Answer #4

Also, you have to be patient sometimes, it may take longer than 2 months to train a dog, and again if you don’t train it correctly it’s not going to work.

Answer #5

Ok, fair enough. lol. I suppose they can be difficult. I find them quite stupid to be honest. Like I said, try a toy poodle, we are getting one. My granmother used to have one and it was brilliantly trained. Poodles are really clever.

Answer #6

I would suggest reading some articles on how to train a puppy. (puppies are easier to train than adult dogs). This way, you can get information on how to train the puppy, so that your training will be effective.

Answer #7

Pugs are a little dumb, but they’re pretty easy to train if you bribe them with food :P plus they’re really cuddly. The only things you have to watch is how much you’re feeding them, and the temperature. Pugs can have strokes if they get too hot :S and they get fat really easily so be careful if you get one ^_^ I highly reccomend them though, they’re epic :)
