Horseback Riding

I am trying to make an analogy between having the reigns of a company and having the reigns of a horse and have a question.

If your horseback riding and you try and get your horse to do something stupid…say your traversing along side a cliff and you decide to pull the reigns of your horse to get him to jump off the cliff…would the horse jump just because you wanted it tot?

I would appreciate anyones help with this.

uuummm, I know horses, and they(even the trusting ones) have sense enough not to jump off a cliff. they would throw you off their back and either run away or just stand there.

Answer #2

Some horses would…some would not (not all are “sensible”, and some are very trusting, and will do whatever is asked) You’ve seen those horses that will jump off a tower into a pool, haven’t you?…Too bad you aren’t comparing a company to a mule…a mule would NEVER go off the side of a cliff…they seem be born with a lot of sense and plenty of self preservation.

Answer #3

No, it would not.

Just because you pull the reigns one way does not mean the horse will fall into danger. Usually a horse will see the edge or feel that the edge is near with it’s hooves and not go off of it.

I know the horses we rode would not even go down a trail where the edge was too close - they would get scared and refuse to walk down it or would stay as far away from the edge as possible.
