you ned to find out where this stems from. I used to be like that, my house HAD to be immaculate, and if it wasn’t it used to irritate me. in fact, if I get to the end of the day and I aven’t done any house work, I do get very very ratty and aggitated and feel compelled to do SOMETHING. SOLUTION? I moved, I still HAVE to do some house work every day (but that’s been ground into me tat that’s MY job, not my husbands lol (wish I could de-programme that one lol!!) but when I moved, it meant a big house that needed a lot of work, and I have done nothing but live in mess for 2 years now, it’s taking ages, and I have had to accept that I can’t keep it immaculate…in fact, I find it very difficult to stay on top of the housework (there’s always something being decorated!!)

but as for you, being motivated isn’t necassarily a bad thing, I’m a list writer and I set myself ‘tasks’ when I want to get lots done. you need to allow yourself ‘me time’…you should sit down for five minutes, write a list on a lined bit of paper saying everything you want to get done, and I mean everything! have a bath, homework, chores, emails you want to send etc…then when you do it, tick the box off. do no more than what’s on the list and remind yourself of what you have done already…

my need to be busy stems from my mum really…you need to work out what it is that’s wrong with chilling out…it’s not being lazy it’s just chilling…everyones entitled to chill out a little bit…

but it’s always good to be motivated in my opinion, just remember sometimes even house elfs need a rest! :)

OCD is a serious mental problem. One in which it doesn’t sound like you have.Lots of people feel like they have to be busy. It’s just the way thing are here in the united states. When you are not busy you feel inadequate.

Heyllo!

I know what you mean exactly. Im the same way, I can be doing the same thing for too long either, and if I do, it has to have some sort of verryation to it. and the sleeping thing pisses me off. im often up verry late.

So, what I did is I got myself into sports, and bikeing around, so when I got home, I was tired. I noticed it helped a lot with the sleeping, and I didnt have as much of a disire as before to be keeping busy. Try taking up a sport, or bike/jog for a while once you get back from school.

You dont sound like you have OCD… It could be an anxiety disorder, or you could simply need to keep busy to keep from thinking, because you’re avoiding something? This may sound a little hokey, but maybe try some yoga to see if you can chill out and relax a bit (atleast you wont technically be doing nothing, but it will help you calm down and focus). If it does get bad you may want to talk to someone about it…
