How to tell my therapist I dont want to see her anymore?

I have been seen her 3 times, no charge, and she is good to talk to and stuff, but It sometimes feels awkward when talking with her, and she does the typical therapist thing where they ask ‘’how does that make you feel’’ and I usually dont have an answer. I feel more open to a new lady I’ve been talking to, from the same company, Ive seen her twice. I have an appointment this friday, that I was thinking of cancelling because I might go to the mall with my friend, should I phone her, cancel and tell her I think I’ll get more help from my other therapist? Im newly getting ‘help’ so I can’t say I dont need her anymore.

Answer #1

You nailed it: “phone her, cancel and tell her I think I’ll get more help from my other therapist”

Answer #2

Realize that you might become “awkward’ with this other therapist. Seeking therapy for problems can be VERY helpful, sometimes absolutely essential to your well being - BUT the root causes for the problems are often difficult to talk about. And are often awkward. It is important to be willing to stay with a therapist that you feel comfortable with, including through the awkward phases - else you just keep skipping from person to person.
