is it a sin for christians celebrate halloween the way it is portraid now?

Answer #1

As a Christian, giving out or recieving candy has no bearing on my Salvation - Jesus bought me with a price, thus I am Heaven-bound and Thankful, Amen !!

Answer #2

tseirpeht, it didn’t become so until the Christains tried converting the Pagans. Now it’s been perverted into a mere child’s game holiday, it discuss me!

Answer #3

I think so

as there is hardly any good meaning behind it

children could eat sweets on any odrinary day of a month/year

why just the 31 of october? just another pagans holiday?

Answer #4

Celebrate what you want but halloween just like christmans and easter comes from pagans. How do you think you go from Jesus raising from the grave to rabits and eggs?

Answer #5

-No it is not. Halloween is a “fun” holiday and should be treated as such. My God has a sense of humor, and seeing a 4 year old running about as Casper is funny to both of us.- No it’s not just a fun holiday look up it’s orgins!

being that the christians have stolen most of the other pagan sacred days- I see no reason to lament over celebrating halloween as well.

Answer #8

Holloween is how we chiristians celebrate the saints. All Hallows’ Even which translates to All hollows eve (evening before) All hollow is also called All Saints day. Because the Saints trusted God and died for God that ment that they only feared God. It is a symbolic way of getting over our fears by dressing up in what we fear because the next day was All Saints day. It is not a day that we cellebrate fear and evil but the cellebration of the day we overcome fear as the saints did. Remember that even Christmas these days takes a perverted meaning to some. I hope this helped and God bless.

Answer #9

I think that God directs us as a matter of conscience, on many things, and for the believers, he lives within, and his Holy Spirit is your guide, so, listen to him. Seek him, ask Him… what he wants you to do, or not do. That is His job, and he delights in doing it. His promise is to lead us, and guide us, so… let him do it.

If you are not comfortable… then.. abstain. Or find an alternative.

I personally enjoy greatly Harvest Festival. And this brings him glory, as we celebrate the bounty that we have received all year long, with no mention of the darker side of life. Only thanksgiving for what we have received.

Answer #10

Yes, along with Christmas & Easter, that were orinally pagan holidays. It says in the bible to not celebrate holidays of another God or that is not of him. But hey, as bald wolf said, christians have stolen most of the other pagan sacred days there’s no reason to lament over celebrating Samhain as well. Just cover it up with some christain sheet like others before have Christmas & Easter & claim it holy. If you burn in hell you know it didnt work, best of luck 1_~
