What do you think about the ruling? What exactly does this mean for GLBT individuals?
It's good to see Prop 8's constitutionality called into question. But, it's being appealed for one thing. And, there is a stay on same-sex marriages during the appeal process, until a hearing can determine whether to allow them before the appeal process is over. The case could very well go to the Supreme Court if the appeal to the Ninth Circuit court fails to uphold Prop 8.
So, is it a victory for the GLBT community in California? Yes, but one of many legal victories needed for same-sex marriage rights.
I just read a news article. I hope I am right when I read that it was declared unconsitutional? If so, then I agree with it and I am glad that it will finally be able to give all people a chance to be happy in marriage regardless of their sexuality or beliefs. It's great.
I don't live in the USA, what was his ruling? Is there a link you can give me to read more about it please.
