Why do I feel so anxious about where I am going to sit when my lunch period comes up?

i mean that is all im worried about not where my locker is or classes.. just where i am sitting.. i mean why? but school starts in about 4 weeks so yea lol

Thats a normal feeling, a lot of people go through that. Cause if you don’t have friends to sit with… then were are you going to sit… and what if you can’t find a spot you’ll look like a loser by your peers.

The cafeteria is a place of great anxiety for many students. I recall we had a section that was all preps and jocks, a section for grunges, a section for geeks, a section for punks … if you didn’t fit into any of those groups, you were left standing there with your lunch bag in your hand and a terrified look on your face while all the groups looked at you and made jokes about your “unpopularity”. I used to sit in a quiet hallway to eat my lunch … even though I did fit in with one of those groups, I couldn’t stand being in the cafeteria with all the group rivals. The best thing to do is find your group and hang onto it like your life depends on it … if you have even just 2 or 3 friends that you can eat your lunch with, it takes off a lot of the pressure.

well, would it be weird if i just sit with people i dont know on my second day of school? since the first day of school is our half day.
