Why do some people not believe in evolution?

Why do some people not believe in evolution?
I know the main reason, because they believe that “god” created everything and what not… But, how do you explain all of the evidence that evolution is an actual thing? And don’t say that “god” put everything on earth just for us to wonder about because I’ve gotten that one before and it’s bllshi*.

Answer #1

You answered your own question then proceeded to tell any believers to keep your mouth shut because I know it’s b’llshi’ - in the catagory ‘Religion’ !! - nice job !

Answer #2

sillygirl006: you have false beliefs.

flossheal: so you are saying that God magically created the first replicating molecule? How silly, this is nothing but a chemical reaction. There is no “God” who reached down to create life on Earth.

And you say that God, this being nobody knows exists, and doesn’t, created the Universe? Just like Gods use to create rain, earthquakes, eclipes, etc. Well if everything needs a creator then who created God? If not the mind? The Universe and the laws of physics have their own cause and their own nature.

wonluv: You don’t believe in evolution? The componet to life? You don’t understand the sciecne involved, “scientists don’t know as much as they think they do”? They know massive amounts more then those who guesssed at and made up the Bible thousands of years ago. Are you arguing that we are the perfect distance from the sun? This is an ignorant statment, you think with all the trillions of Extrasolar systems out there it isn’t bound to happen? Even if life was possible to come into existance it would evolve to the atmosphere and climate. You’d better be glad things do work the way they do and Earth provided resource and developed ecology to support life, or you wouldn’t be here and idiots like you wouldn’t have anything to be confused about.

Scientists never said the world was flat. Greeks established that the world was round around 300 BCE, the Bible was used to argue that the world was flat right into the 20th century.

Answer #3

hahah dude chill I didn’t say you were the one forcing your opinions on people, I was talking mostly about those people who are religious…

and your question simply asks “why do some people not believe in evolution? “ and I answered by saying because some people have different views what type of answer do you want?

plus you basically answered your own question “*I know the main reason, because they believe that ‘God’ created everything and what not… “

yeah, so sorry for the misunderstanding

Answer #4

because everyone else has different thoughts and views on this subject most of those people who believe that “God” created everything think that those who believe those who follow the evolution theory are immorally wrong and ignorant and need some kind of spiritual help, they also like to argue with other peoples opinions

anyways, believe what you like but dont force your opinion on others and preach to them, let them figure out what they think is right and not what you think is right

thank you, have a good day people

HAHAHA DON’T JUDGE ME PEOPLE!!!

Answer #5

I don’ tbelieve in evolution. Do you realize how absolutely perfect the planets are in order in our solar system? That if they were off the slightest bit we would all go hurdling out to space being knocked off balence of gravitational pull? For every scientist who has a proven theory for evolution, ther is another with a proven theory for creation. The fact is scientist don’t know much as they think they do. The world used tobe flat, remember? All the scientist said so. It’s just a matter of spirituallity. I don’t believe everything was accidential. Really, how logical is it to say running waters of rivers that feed trees, that give off oxygen that allows all man and animals to breathe, trees tat grow natural fruits and vegetables that nurish us, natural medecines that grow in the earth, the sun allowing just enoughl ight and heat for us to survive without getting scorched. We have been placed here with all things we would ever need. The only messed up parts about the world are the ones we created with pollution, and violence etc. all that was a coinsidence ? Some big bang put the world in exact, perfect astronomical order ? That does not sound logical to me at all. Only God could create such a plan.

Answer #6

I don’t believe in evolution. The simple answer is that there are 8 million 400 thousand species that Krsna created on Earth. The Earth is one of the lower planets in the Material Prision House. In the beginning those living entities that rebelled against Krsna were sent down to the Material World. Since they wanted to enjoy themselves separate of God (Krsna) Krishna gave them the opportunity, since Krsna respects everyone’s free will. The living entities all incarnated on different planets and in different universes according to their desires. Essentially the material world is a dream world created by Krsna for the living entities to enjoy. The living entities are still bounded by Karma and they must reincarnate in different forms, higher or lower according to their deeds. The reason why species have similar DNA and structures is because on Earth, Krsna gave the living entities the lowest form possible first because of their rebellion. This form was a bacteria, called an Indragopa in Sanskrit. The living entities would evolve through the 8,400,000 species of life until they reached human form, where they had the chance to break free from the cycle of Reincarnation and go back to Krsna. A human being could be elevated to celestial planets due to good deeds, or go back to Krsna, the ultimate goal, or they could be degraded back to animal forms, or even go to Hell. Once the living entity reaches the human from it is a crossroad. At this point he can go to Hell or start the evolutionary process through the 8 million 400 thousand species again or he can be elevated to higher celestial planets, or go back to Krsna. This is why species resemble each other. The original living entities took primitive bacteria forms at first and then slowly took more advanced forms until they got to the human form. When a living entity would rebel he would take birth in the material world. Out of the people born in the material world, the ones born on Earth would have to start as bacteria and work there way up. Since there are people rebelling against Krsna every second since time immemorial there is always bacteria, and all forms of life. If evolution was true there would be no lower forms of life since everything would have evolved. There is all types of life due to people’s karma. Remember there is life on every planet in the universe, most life is more advanced than us, even though we don’t have the senses to perceive this life, such as the advanced civilizations of the sun and the moon. There are innumerable planets and moons in this universe, and innumerable universes in the material world. The ultimate goal is to go back to Krsna.

Answer #7

The problem with what most Christians think about how long it took to create to earth, is that they try to interpret the old testament as if EVERYTHING in it were meant to be taken in a literal manner, which it was not. I personally feel that if someone is going to read something that shapes their views, like the bible, they should also consult with people who know more or less what it means. The old testament and its meanings are well known by many Jewish rabbis. I personally believe that if there is a god, they probably created the beginning of the earth, but also allowed for evolution, which makes a lot of sence, simply because there is no evidence that humans (in any form) were alive at the time of the dinosaurs, which kind of pokes huge holes in creationists’ theory. Just because god COULD create it in 7 days (which actually means periods of time), doesn’t mean that he did.

Answer #8

No, we just think theyre wrong, not immorally wrong or ignorant. We believe in free will. You can believe what you want to. And we don’t force our opinions on people, if people are doing that theyre not doing it right. We believe its our job to share God’s word not to force it into people. Once again, thats not right. It’s their choice to take what we say. God wanted people to choose Him, but He wanted us to choose, so He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross to actually give us a chance. I don’t know, I just think of being here as a kind of test, You can choose to ask Him into your life and live the way He wants you to and live in eternal paradise or you don’t, and go to Hell. There are sites that have scientific proof that the Bible and what it says is true (google it)

Answer #9

Because people are ignorant, it’s THE credible explanation for the diversity of species.

People don’t believe it because it contradicts religious writings and “creation”, lol they make it sound like a “theory” it’s something desert men made up thousands of years ago to make sense of what was inexplicable.

Answer #10

“But no, there is no real good reason to believe that humans evolved from monkeys.”

Yeah there is no reason too, the theory does not say humans evolved from monkeys, they evolved from a line of primate ancestors that are now extinct. Ancestors of humans shared an ancestors with monkeys, and diverged(split lines) millions of years ago.

Answer #11

confusedx0gurl: monkey theory is not quite right, common misconception.

ymaamy777: I like the advice to go read the Bible, I wouldn’t suggest anyone to boggol their mind with it. How on Earth do you come to the conclusion that anything in it is true?

andyburton: The theory of evolution and scientific principle of abiogenesis doesn’t include “divine intervention” Both the creation of life and the evolution of species are completely natural processes, nothing but biochemistry . Science explains these things with complete clairity.

Belief in God is not needed to understand the world around us. God has always been used to explain what we do not understand. As science explains more of how and why something happens the less they are attributed to a God.

Answer #12

Why are there still apes, monkies, and gorillas, because they evolved from different primates, I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand. And Guess what, God doesn’t exist.

And twigy if you are applying that things can’t happen natruelly.. then tell me why can God?

And the whole watch thing if I understand, there’s something evolution has that that doesn’t and that’s natruel selection.

Answer #13

“And you did ask why we dont believe in evolution..It’s simple; we have something far greater to put our faith in.”

To bad for you it’s not true.

People who believe in God disrespect science because of their fairytale beliefs, they act like children who need to go back to grade school and learn respect.

It’s much better to be free to think what you want instead of being brainwashed to not question your faith.

Evolution is way more awesome and true, unlike God.

Answer #14

I don’t believe in evolution because there is so much evidence against it. that, and I have a testimony of the fact that God did create us in His image. but that’s just me.

Answer #15

if you believe that we evolved , then why are there still apes monkies and gorillas.and if we did evolve, which I think is not possible.Guess what God still created us.

Answer #16

I may have answered my own question but there was more of a question to it, maybe you should read a bit more carefully “amblessed”. I was saying that I have gotten the answer that god put everything on earth.. but I just don’t understand it.. so, I was looking for a second opinion. you’re a smart one.

Answer #17

Evolution and Darwinism are two completely different things. Yes, evolution does exist, things do evolve over time to adapt to their environment, etc. But no, there is no real good reason to believe that humans evolved from monkeys.

Answer #18

and I never said your lifstyle or god was bullhit, I just said that that answer was bullhit… to me, not to everyone else, I don’t understand how that could offend you.

Answer #19

I don’t even have an answer for a question like this… Especially for someone who jsut said my God/ the way I live my life style is bull sh*t

Answer #20

I think many people do not believe in evolution because they do not understand it and they don’t know how science works. From reading above, it’s obvious that many people have false ideas about evolution and thinks that it means things that it doesn’t. No wonder so many people are so confused!

Science can be very confusing and intimidating to those on the “outside.” I can fully understand why some people prefer simpler explanations even though I do not. But I also feel sorry for them that they don’t realize the beauty and wonder of evolution through natural selection and that some feel it is antagonistic to their religious beliefs.

Answer #21

Well obviously everyone has different opinions and thoughts on the subject.
you really gave me no help what so ever. I am asking WHY some people don’t believe in evolution.

and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell me not to force my opinion on anyone because you don’t know if I do that or not, you are assuming that I try to make people believe something they do not want to and that is not something that I do at all. I tell people what I believe if they ask.

Answer #22

It’s safe to say anyone who claims not to believe in evolution is ignorant, or uneducated.

Answer #23

a) most of you know me as a committed Christian

b) I believe that God made the universe and everything in it

c) I believe that science is discovering how He did it (Big Bang, evolution etc) and that’s great, both for general knowledge and for improving lives

d) I believe that the extraordinary battle we see between ‘evolutionists’ (including me) and ‘creationists’ (also me) is totally bizarre and meaningless

e) I believe that both sides should give up on this bizarre argument and get on with something that actually matters

f) yes - I’ve offended everyone! Sorry…

Answer #24

I have read the bible.
It’s a story. Why don’t you read one of my books on evolution, maybe you will understand the truth.

Answer #25

haha, sure. I guess you could call it that.

Answer #26

when you say evolution do you mean the whole mokey theory

Answer #27

Take a watch, smash it up real nice. Put it in a box and shake it around. Then tell me if the watch puts itself back together.

&& “c) I believe that science is discovering how He did it (Big Bang, evolution etc) and that’s great, both for general knowledge and for improving lives”

Amen sister.

Now for the whole um..”Who created God” thing ..

No one. God IS. How can that be you ask?

Because he’s God and well, God can do what he wants. Being all knowing and all powerful and the such likes.

Sorry if you have problems with the “standard Christian” answers, but how else are we suppose to answer other than what we believe? And you did ask why we dont believe in evolution..It’s simple; we have something far greater to put our faith in.
