Did Jesus get on with his dad?

If you can ignore the painful slip-ups (Matthew 10:34, Matthew 15:4-7, Luke 12:47, etc.), One could nearly agree that Jesus was advocating peace, forgiveness and happiness.

I wonder if he got on very well with his intolerant, unforgiving, bloodthirsty (biological?) dad (1 Samuel 15:1-3, Leviticus 24:10-16, 2 Chronicles 21:12-19, etc.).

Answer #1

You’re spinning truth like a top for your purposes - doesn’t change the truth of John 3 : 16, Amen !!

Answer #2

No Xgabriellax, his… well, biological father. But ‘biological’ might sound a bit ridiculous, don’t you think?

Answer #3

Do you mean Jesus’s dad, as in Joseph?

Answer #4

I can’t add a thing more to silverwings!

Take heed annv, I’m moved to tears by those who refuse to recognize that the trees which are now in the bud stage will bear fruit later in the growing season!

May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice! As a cross gender saying also: The father’s son is his glory.

The “slip ups” are, since time began, the ways that man thinks about personal peace and affluence. I, I, me, me, my, it’s all mine attitude to where, when truth is interjected, is completely refused because of hardened hearts calloused from pain caused by others. Somewhere deep inside each of us is a place that we go for solace. Some things are placed so deep inside, that a huge fall is needed to break through to the crisis IN belief. Not crisis OF belief, because all of us believe something! Bless you as you find the way.

Answer #5

There’s also that small bit about his father setting things in motion so that he would be murdered. When that happened to Patrick Swayze in Ghost, brother went medieval on a guy.

Answer #6

* you knew it would separate you from them. and they went anyways and ate what separated you, wouldn’t you be hurt and mad too?

No, because I would be god, and I would realize things had happened exactly the way I set them up to happen and knew they would happen. It would be ridiculous for me to get mad about that.

Answer #7

Thanks again people. And as I said before, I’ll go with KingofPop’s advice.

Answer #8

The Old and New Testaments were written by authors from different cultures, for different audiences, and with different agendas. Trying to join them into a single story, with Jesus as the son of God, is utterly ridiculous.

Answer #9

This is a very interesting question. You know that Jesus died on the cross for us? I’m sure his father Joseph was a remarkable man and that Jesus only wanted to show love towards his people. and amblessed, I loved your answer. Keep up the great work!

I empathize with you, concerning your reading and attempted understanding of the holy scriptures. It must be very frustrating indeed, for the bible says that it is impossible to understand, unless the holy spirit is dwelling within.

To the natural mind, one cannot understand the things of God. Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the scriptures are just a jumble of words, that constantly appear to contradict one another.

This will not change.

You will never be able to comprehend, or understand the word of God, until you receive the Spirit of God.

He has designed it this way, so that it will be kept from the unbelieving heart, and explained to the ones who do believe.

This is another reason why Jesus spoke in parables. One because it is easily understood thru the power of his spirit living within, but, impossible to one who just wants to argue and disagree.

It is more than ridiclous that anyone would even begin to expect the slightest kind of harmony to exsit on a board where believers and unbelievers come together.

If it was not for the ones that come to this board from time to time, who truly are sincere, I would not even be here.

The bible talks about sharing your pearls before swine, and this is what it is talking about.

What is precious to a believer, is trampled under foot by the unbeliever, always has been, always will be.

God suffers you to live, because he loves you, if it was not for his long suffering and his grace and his mercy, he would have already put the unbelievers underneath his feet.

He paid his own price, for us, that we may be redeemed back to him, from where we had fallen, due to disobedience.

Because of that, he allows you to spew your vile all over the place. Without that sacrifice, you would not have this priviledge. So, you can actually thank God, that you can say, or do whatever is on your heart, and yet continue to be allowed to live. For now, anyway.

All things are wrapping up, and you would have to blind, stupid and dumb… to not see this. Or you have your head stuck in the sand.

Any person who has eyes to see and ears to hear, knows that things are happening in our world, that are not the same as they have been for thousands of years. 6000 in fact… Man has been in charge… God gave all things into his hand. We are now seeing the result of this, and the catastrophe that has been created…

God is now stepping up to have his say.

The upheavels that we are experiencing, will continue and grow worse, so will all the evil in the world, as the author of it, knows that his time is very short indeed.

The bible says that our adversary, Satan, walks to and fro in the earth, seeking whom he may devour.

It also says that there is nothing nor noone, who can resist him, except those who are covered with the blood of Jesus.

As the days get harder, and the road grows more difficult, realize that no matter how you have resisted God in the past, or in the present, he is willing to forgive you.

But, it is not going to happen, until you bow your knee to him, in total submission to his holiness and his authority.

Man has and does resist him, to his own demise.

This is your right, if you so choose.

He will never make you do anything … that you are not totally willing to do.

As for me and my house, we will gladly and humbly serve our Lord and Master, in all three of his forms, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for making it possible for me to share who he is to me, and to any reading this, who desire a walk with him, or need any help or information concerning the things or ways of God, Please feel free to send me funmail.

God bless…

Answer #11

he is God, so he knows everything but he loves us enough to give is a choice,. and my opinion it is ridiculous, the way he loves is is ridiculous. it doesnt make any sense and no one can understand it.

Answer #12

“he is God, so he knows everything”

Wawawawait a second, then why did he “supposedly” read the torah for 30 years? If he is god, and god is all knowing? :o Wasn’t he like supposed to know what’s in it right away?

Answer #13

Thanks people. I’ll go with KingofPop’s advice, if you don’t mind.

Please Amblessed, I am not going to argue your ‘spinning’ remark because it has no substance. And John 3:16 is a worn out assembly of non-coherent messages that has not survived rational and philosophical scrutiny. Besides, the concept of divine sacrifice in its biblical context is a laughable and almost mathematical contradiction.

It seems that your focus is eternal gain by favourable selection of Bible texts in order to make God look good. Read the Bible Emblessed and surprise yourself!

Answer #14

Tis true that Jesus was an advocate for peace and love. He said the greatest commandment is to love and worship God, and the second is to love your neighbor. Tis true that God was a vengeful, angry and quick to curse people…

But that is why He came down in the form of Jesus. He wanted to reconnect with his people. His first covenant was the promise to Abraham when he nearly killed his own son to prove his love for God. The difference is that Jesus was slain by God, as proof he loves us and to set the next covenant, with all people.

Jesus is believed to be God, by Christians, which means God had changed his ways and wanted to promounce it to his people.

One heck of a sacrafice to prove he has changed and ready to reconnect with his people. For everyone to be part of his new reign, he used himself as a sacrafice to bond the deal.

Answer #15

Let’s just say that you are a perfect being, let’s call you God, if you created yourself some children, gave them a perfect place to live, and good looking spouses and the best food to eat and you told them to stay away from a certain thing because it could hurt them. and because you knew it would separate you from them. and they went anyways and ate what separated you, wouldn’t you be hurt and mad too? God was mad, of course he was, his children rejected him. then in Israel over and over again the same. I think God had a reason to be hurt. He is a God of emotions, he laughs and cries and gets mad just like everyone else.
