How old do my cats have to be to start spraying?

Answer #1

Do you mean spraying? If so, single indoor cats with a quiet environment are more likely to start spraying when they’re around a year old, while male cats in environments with other cats and/or fertile female cats, can start to spray when they’re around 6 months old. It really just depends on the environment. Also, if you get the cat neutered before it ever sprays, it makes it far less likely to spray in the future, but if you wait, they could just spray out of habit.
