Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Also, keep in mind that the BMI calculations are usually only valid for Men and Women between 18 and 65 years of age. For teens they should only be used as guidelines to shoot for by 18 years of age.

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

Check out your BMI at the bmi calculator site below to see where you stand.

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

What do you mean you should be 5’4? the BMI doesnt tell you how tall you have to be? And anyways it’s an approximation, giving an average range…

Answer #3

that’s an average… it doesnt mean you’re supposed to be that height… the bmi is calculated according to however tall you are, it does take that into account…

Answer #4

I think your doing it wrong your bmi doesnt say how tall you should be it says hoew much on average you should weight according to your height your height isnt what it calculates…it calculates your weight so you use your height and your age to calculate how average your weight is around 21-25 is a good body mass index lower could be healthy or unhealthy, and higher could also be healthy and unhealthy

Answer #5

yeah, its probably that youre doing it wrong somehow. try this website: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
