BMI and muscles

Well, I have asked BMI questions before, but here’s another one: So I’m a cheerleader and a soccerplayer, I have 8 years of swimming experience and 5 in yoga… I weigh about 125 Ibs and I’m like 5’4 tall… and my BMI is 23 (I think that’s right!)… so what I don’t really get is how BMI can be accurate. Muscles weigh more than fat, so naturally if you have a lot of muscle than you will weigh more than if you didn’t, wich would result in that your BMI is higher…

And since I am in good fysical condition (I think :P), and I have muscles, then wouldn’t my BMI be incorrect?

:D:D kind of confusing, but it’s on my mind!

Yes, I reckon BMI readings are for average body types. I do think it’s quite irrelevant for athletic bodies.
