How can I make black/grey out of watercolor paints?

I have basic colors but my set didnt come with black or grey.. I dont want to waste my paints trying to figure it out so what colors can I mix?

Answer #1

mix a whole bunch of colors together or mix blue and little brown then add some white?

Answer #2

Well, with water colors there is no white or grey, there’s only black. I wouldn’t suggest you trying to mix a bunch of colors to get black, more than often you just get a tinted brown. I’d just suggest you buy a black watercolor. When painting with watercolor, the grey, simply comes from how diluted you make your black. Although I have noticed that they do have these new tube water colors that have lighter shades of different colors, they might have grey.
