He thinks things can go back to normal, they can’t why do guys always think after they break your heart things can go right back to normal? Just like they were when you were best friends?

Because men can compartmentalize things…that was then, this is now. Women, on the other hand, look at things as one blending into the next…men and women are hardwired totally differently….

That doesn’t mean he can’t apoligize….and once he does, put it behind you, and forgive. No sense in losing your best friend because he is built to think in a different way than you…it’s mother natures fault :)

Most guys try to cover their mistakes by pretending it was never there. It’s not that we don’t know it happened, it’s that we don’t want to believe it did. Guys do it because they’re afraid of change. We want girls to think of us how they always thought of us, and if something bad like a breakup happens, then it changes those thoughts about us.

I’m not saying this is all guys, but the majority doesn’t want certain feelings to go away. Girls are like that too I guess. Some try to ‘remain’ the same, when really it feels awkward to the guy that she’s acting like normal after something huge like a breakup/divorce.
