My baby wakes up in the night still pretty often. At least twice to get a diaper change and then twice to eat. She is 11 months old and I told the doctor. And she nolonger eats in the night due to instructions the doctor gave me but she still wants to get her diaper changed or she wont sleep. I fell horrible to leave her in a soaking wet diaper so I change her but the doc. Tells me not to change her all night. But I cant. Should I listen to her.
It is probably safe to assume that you are a new mother. CONGRATS!
I have 5 kids of my own and to be honest most of them slept thru the night from about 3 months. Your doctor is right. You may not like to hear your baby cry but as long as she knows that you are going to tend to her she will.
What worked for me is giving my kids a warm soothing bath right before bed, making sure that the room temp is comfortable and then putting the baby to sleep. If the baby wakes at night, feed her, but ONLY water and ONLY once!! She will soon recognize that she is not getting what she wants and will sleep thru the night.
Oh, yea. I also gave my daughter a neck roll that I sleep on since it carries my sccent...only problem...she wont give it back...lol...but she sleeps!!! :)
I have an 11 month old as well!! She goes to sleep at about 8/9 pm and I dont hear her again until 5/6 am. (and she is in the same room!)
I have 2 children my daughter was no probs but my son was waking up as well in just let him cry and I felt it was so nasty but it worked after 2days and he was wanting his nappy changed as well 9 times out of 10 I would do it and it would hardley be that wet so I left him and after a few days of leaving him he was sleeping all night so I would say just leave her I know how nasty it sounds but the only reason she is waking you up for her nappy changed is because she know's you will get up with her so if you leave it after a few days she hopefully sleep all night but I would say change her if she poo's
