What is an article from the German point of view about surrender of that country in World War One?

Answer #1

Uh, can’t put links in here…

Do you speak German? Then you could try using “de” dot “wikipedia” dot “org” and search for “Erster Weltkrieg” (translates: first worldwar) . It has several web-links at the lower end of that page. Or use google dot de and search the term “Erster weltkrieg”.

You can also google “Im Westen nichts neues”. (All quiet on the Western Front). That’s a novel WW1 written by a german pacifist.

Please note that there are several German points of view: If you find any articles claiming that the Germans lost WW1 because the Communists and the Jews in Germany were sabotaging the unbeatable German army, then you can pretty sure it’s a Nazi-Ideology article. If you find articles that claims that Germay lost WW1 due to the megalomania of starting a war on two fronts and making too may enemies, then it’s probably the current historical-scientific point of view.

Also, the Germans in the Weimar Republic (that short period between WW1 and the Nazi-Reich) had strong disputes about WW1, too. They had all extreme political movements in parliament. Communists, Socialists, Monarchists, Nazis, Liberals, Democrats… and each of them had an opinion about WW1. Make sure you know whose opinion you find.

For the history of WW1, google about the life and politics Chancellor Otto von Bismarck and the German Emperors Wilhelm II and Friedrich III.
