Can I use an Apple iPhone with a Cingular plan?

Yes, the price of the phone, activation, etc. will bring you close to $1,500.00US plus the $80.00US or so per month for service and internet. Plus extra to load it up with movies and songs through iTunes. :)

Quick side note: Although the iPhone does have internet service over AT&T’s network, the phone itself doesn’t support the high-speed connection, meaning you will be around 75kbps, or a little faster than dial-up. If you find a Wi-Fi network, then you will get home broadband or better, depending on the signal strength and bandwidth. I know some people are getting it for the internet, so just a quick FYI.

Att wireless is the new name for cingular, lol. A few years ago, Cingular bought Att wireless, but then ~6 months ago, Att consolidated & bought up Cingular, and then they changed the name back.

Anyway, if you buy an iphone, the plan is through Cingular / Att wireless, though from memory, it’s a bit more expensive for the unlimited date package than the one I got with my palm pda last summer.

If you will buy an unlocked I-phone you can use with any Cingular sim card.Because it is GSM network.You cannot use with CDMA network.Also if it is a locked phone you cannot use other network sim card in it.You need to unlock it.Visit the site http://www.superunlockcodes.com/apple-iphone/rs12wp9/ get remote unlocking service and unlock it easily.Then use with Cingular pay as you go sim card.Check unlocking service is available for your iphone.If it is available get it and unlock it.
