Is it possible to buy an iPhone in the US and use it in Canada?

I was wondering if this is possible, I plan on going to NY soon to visit my boyfriend, he wanted to buy me a I Phone for my birthday can i buy it there and use it in Canada?

i think you can but i would set up the contract in canada.

ifs its like over here you would ask your provider for that country package..

for instance i can call virgin and ask them for the european package which will allow me to call any european country or i can ask for teh canada/american package which will allow me to call canada/america.

at the moment i have free calls and texts to canada for some reason lol

so yes the best thing to do is to phone your provider up and get the package ;) of course this is if its the same there as it is over here.

If you are buying an iPhone in US, It would definitely be tied up to any US network.
