Do you all think that 65 murders for the year is enough for a government to say the Crime rate is high in a country?

These figures are from January 01st and does not include all the rapes, kidnappings and robberies experienced so far

Answer #1

It depends on the population of the country you are talking about. . There were 15,241 murders in the USA during 2009 and that is about 42 every day. In 1992 there were more than 65 murders per day on average. . United States Crime Rates 1960 - 2009 - http://funadvice.com/r/bh344tagqo7 .

Answer #2

Our population here is only 1.3 million.

Answer #3

Trinidad and Tobago would be delighted if they could get the murder rate down anywhere near so low as 65 in a year. There were 550 there during 2008. . http://funadvice.com/r/bh34alri45j .

Answer #4

I think that 1 is too much. Never let down your guard with crime.

Answer #5

But I guess you mean 65 for the year so far i.e. for the 8 weeks so far, which would be somewhere over 400 for the year at that rate. It is already recognized that Trinidad and Tobago is already the murder capital of the Caribbean, and one of the worst in the world. I am sure your government fully accepts the fact that the crime rate is far too high, and they would wish to do something to reduce it.

Answer #6

I hope so.. Things not looking much better than previous years even with a new government.

Answer #7

Depends on the size of your country. For an incredibly small country, yea that could be considered high. Now with America… if the crime rate was that low it would be a miracle…
