4 wheeler problem

I have a 2007 yamaha grizzly 450 when I lock in the 4x4 differential it will idle but when I give it gas it jus putts not letting the rpms raise. Regular 4x4 works but every now and then it Does the problem in regular 4x4 and reverse.whats wrong?

Sounds like the idle may be too low and when you engage 4x4 it’s putting extra “load” on it. There should is an idle adjustment thunb screw on the carburator. Run the engine until it’s warm, then adjust the idle until your RPM’s read about 1000 to 1200. You can probably reach the screw without removing the side cover just be careful not to burn your hand on the engine. The idle screw itself won’t be hot. Make sure the transmission is in park and set the brake.
