Have the causes for infertility in women changed throughout time or have they remained consistent?

Answer #1

I would say they have changed. Hundreds of years ago, it was easy to conceive. Now a days there are toxic gasses and potentially harmful foods/drinks etc everywhere. Everybody breathes in smog, cigarette smoke etc, and everybody drinks coffee or energy drinks. Drinking/eating manufactured foods like these must have some effect on ability to carry/conceive future children, and it’s only going to get worse.

Answer #2

i don’t think

Answer #3

That’s an interesting question. Odds are that a lot of the infertility issues in the past were likely linked to STDs and other diseases that are very much curable today with basic antibiotics. We also are far more aware of the reproductive system today. I think it is tough to say. I do think age related causes are unique to today’s society. Women never used to wait this long to get pregnant.

Answer #4

The thing is, its pretty much impossible to tell. The fact is, in most cases we actually have no idea why a woman is infertile. Perception about infertility has definately changed though. It used to be that if a couple couldnt conceive, it was usually attributed to the woman. One thing we do know now is that it is usually the man.
