What is the worst case scenario with having an extreme metal sensativity and metal bands on braces?

I have extreme metal sensativity and have 8 metal bands which are now barly visible because my gums are completely swollen covering them. I’m curious what is the worse thing that can happen. I’m worried i’ll have to have my braces removed because I can’t close my mouth due to my gums swelling so bad.

Answer #1

I would think abscess, bleeding, and infection. Have you been back to the orthodontist about this? You need to have this looked at.

Answer #2

Most braces are made of surgical steel, stainless steal, and titanium. Surgical steel will give no allergies to anyone. That is what is used by doctores and surgons. Titanium also doesn’t affect most people. But stainless steal on the other hand can affect some people. Infections can.happen from metal allergies so it is smart to get it checked out asap.

Answer #3

I react to both surgical steel, implant grade titanium, and glass my body genuinely rejects anything forign being placed into it.

Answer #4

well as I stated it is rare that a person can be allergic. No offense but if you knew you had this horrible allery why did you get metal braces?
