Will my female cat ever get on with my female kitten

I have a 2 year old female cat who is a bit skittish and nervous but very loving and I introduced a female kitten as a playmate last week but I was told it was male at the time (whoops) so now I’m really worried they will never get along as my adult cat is terrified of the kitten and won’t stay in the same room as her. The kitten is as bold as brass and even showed it hackles on their second meeting, which makes me think that the kitten will eventually try to dominate her and the household and my cat will become depressed and unhappy. Should I re-home the kitten now before she gets too settled or should I persevere and just take it slowly?

I have 2 male 13 year old cats and just introduced an 8 week old female. This is not new to us, at one time we had a dog and 5 cats that we got at different times and things worked out just fine. I need to refreshed though, one (if not both) of my old males is peeing around the house. What do I do? I give him lots of attention, the oter 13 year old is deaf and aloof, so I am sure it is the other one peeing. I keep the rooms I can closed off. Is there anything I should do that I’m not? Thank for all suggestions.

Let the adult cat get used to the kitten…everything takes time. Two female cats can live very well with one another (think lions…the females make up most of the pride)…Cats don’t take to change well, so be patient.

Give them time…your older cat will eventually accept the new addition, but you have to let them do it on their own time…don’t try to force them together.

Lol I have a half bob cat Lizz she is 9 years old and I brought this little tiny Grey cat named noodles to have a play mate for because her sister died I swear to god I thought I was gonna come home to a bob cat with a bulgy belly but a year later they get along but rarely lay together they get better and better every day so don’t ya worry If a 5 1/2 pound cat can get along with a 18/19 pound bob cat I think they will be fine XD lol

I wish ya happy cat times.

I have a 5 cats four of which are female.. I introduced them to each other all at different times. It normally takes 2 to 6 weeks for most animals to get used to another animal in their living space. If it doesn’t work with in 6 weeks I would say it probably wont work,
