Will a 14 week old pup be to old to adjust to a new home?

I am looking to buy a white boxer, I am unsure whether to get one at 14 weeks or 8 weeks, I see the benefits of both, but I’m looking for the benefit to the dog. My biggest worry with the older pup is will he adjust ok to a new routine without his brothers and mum and dad given the additional time he has spent with them. Have I missed out on the essential socialisation period, getting him used to traffic, people, noises etc. The owner does have children and his walking him, but I’m just concerned and want a dog that’l adjust to its new life. Thanks

I have always owned Boxers, and 14wks is fine, but all white Boxers have a high likely hood of being blind and deaf, they used to kill them at birth. It would be a good idea to vet check for these prob. before purchase. You will want to socialize your pup ASAP, with other dogs and children, they can be aggressive. But a very loving, loyal, and comical dog. They require a lot of exercise. And are as full of energy at 3mnths as 12yrs old. They never grow out of that puppy stage, so be prepared for an active dog. We love the breed, and hope this has been helpfull. P.S. Very smart and easy to train. Denice in WI.

No, that sounds like a good age, your not supossed to seperate them from theyre mother until theyre at least 12 weeks

Lord yes…It’s still just a baby…Find the puppy that you want…the one who’s parents are healthy and social (not vicious or fearful), and get it. Every week a pup develops, learns new things…Go to a site that talks about what to expect from a pup of whatever age you’re looking at, so you can know where your pup is in it’s developement.
