Why? Is it odd for a 18 year old to be a virgin?

its not strange as such, I know some people that are around 18 and are still virgin but this doesnt mean anything, just have sex when you feel like not when your pressured into doing it. Your 18 and you can do it without consent of parents so just do it if you feel like doing it, best way is to find a stable boyfriend and use contraception is the other thing :)

It isn’t really. It’s a matter of choice. You can have your own set of principles and reasons to stay virgin. You don’t have to conform and lose it. I’m 20, and I’m still virgin by choice. I have a girlfriend, and she’s virgin too. We do a lot of ‘stuff’ but we’re both saving up for marriage. My bestfriend is a girl, and we never do things like that. we’re ‘just friends’ like you said. So, I respect your choice to save up for marriage, and everyone else should too.

Don’t feel bad about it, or even think it’s strange. I’m 19, and a guy, and I’m still a virgin. Not because I’m ugly or fat or anything, it’s just never seemed that important to me. But it’s not strange, it is rare. My friends used to try to get me to lose my virginity so I know how that can be. Give it time and eventually, hopefully, they’ll actually respect you for it. My friends respect me now because of it.

Strange? Strange isn’t the word your looking for. Rare is what it really is.

Girls in my classes aren’t virgins, my school has a day care for children that these girls made and sadly they’re only 14-15 years old. Its saddening really but you made the right choice in waiting, preferably speaking. Teen pregnancy is really what screws up a lot of girls. As for your friends they should respect your choice on waiting instead of pressuring into having sex which is what it looks like they’re doing. I also want to point out that its nice you don’t have a boyfriend, usually the dating aspect plus school is another thing that ends up being problematic.

As for you, stick to what your doing its a suggestion really. Legally your old enough to have sex but I hope you wait. Now remember to educate yourself about sex and its risks (which I’m pretty sure you have). Its important to know about it all before actually doing it.
