Why do you have to "accept jesus in your life" to go to heaven?

When to accept Salvation ?…NOW !! - none of us are guaranteed the next hour !!

Although there are prophets in every religion, Jesus is the ONLY one that claims to be the Lord himself. THAT is what sets him apart from the other prophets. He is God in the flesh.

Also look at the symbols of all the religions. What do you notice about the majority of them? Most are at peace, such as Buddha sitting joyfully with a slight smile on his face. Christianity is the only religion that I am aware of that has a symbol of pain, and suffering: the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

The different races and languages are clearly given explanation in the bible. Reading the bible can give you most if not all of the answers you are looking for because God himself is the author.

The bible is meant to be tested. We are supposed to use our minds to test the book. We are not supposed to follow blindly.

I am a passionate christian in my life, for I know I am young..as I am only 16 and had many things happen to me that I wish different, I always see it as god did this for a reason,just one of many things I been through in my life, my dad got into a bad motorcyle accident, he was not expected to live, its been 5 mounths and hes just know learning to walk again, well before this he was running 24/7 for years and my mom was an alcholic ever since I can remeber, I never got to spend time with my dad and my mom was just so abusive, well after this accident things changed I can now say I have movie night with my parents every night, my mom is seeing a psychiatrist because of everything thats she done to me and dad, and I really am glad to see our family actualy becoming a family up, I BELEIVE with all my heart there is a god and things happen for a reason, that no one s perfect but as long as you seek salvation in heart and TRY to stay true to god then you will go to heaven, for we all will break away from the high and mighty sin free road and venture to the sinful side of life but as long as you come back and repent and try hard to not sin and saw what you did was wrong then god forgives you because he loves you, for he knows the world is full of sin and theres just so many temptations, the more you stay true the stronger a christian you become, I ALSO believe that god lets things happpen because all man-kind has been sinning for so long we fallen into a sin spree, and we are all tempted to sin, and people do, but it takes a true christian to see if you have sinned and want repentence, to most people reading this I know you think hes just a kid but I can tell you no matter what age you are you can never be to old/young to have a relationship with god, to seek forgivness, and im not saying atheist are sinners but rather more gods little lambs lost in the world that the devil has taken, I beleive this world is a test and god and jesus are there to help u/ you just gota want the help

Well giving you some of my brief knowledge, God really isn’t about rules, he is more about relationship…having a one on one relationship with him can help open the eyes of your heart and give you more faith. Logically stuff doesn’t make since to us, but of course we are not the creator…we are just the design and every great design has a designer…I believe our’s is God. God himself gave us free will to choose what ever paths in life we wanted, he knew we would take dirty paths, therefore he sent his only son…Jesus to die on the cross, and wash our sins white. I have more evidence to answer Your questions but don’t take it from my word, it is far better to experience it for yourself, It helps start a relationship with him, But only if you’re interested. =]

It is more than wonderful that you indicate that you truly want the answers, rather than to mock the faith, which so many do. I imagine that would be why you would get rude answers (which I am not defending) because it is hard to tell just by reading the words, exactly what the intent is, without stating it.

If you really want to know about God, and get to know him personally, go to the Christian bookstore, and ask them to show you different versions of the bible, that are accepted by most Christians, you will find one that will be just right for you.

As you read it, pray before hand, asking God to help you understand it, and to receive it in the right spirit. He is the author of the book, and he will lead you thru the power of his holy spirit, if you have received him as savior.

There have been a common misconception that those who have never heard of Christ are screwed. No one comes to the father but through me was said by Yeshua (who you call Jesus), for those who have never heard of him are represented by him because they never denied him. The reason you need to accept him is because he was perfect (without sin). Because of this he was considered the ultimate sacrafice. The meaning of accepting Jesus Christ in order to go to heaven is a statement. because Jesus came down to enlighten the people that GOD loves all an that he is not the GOD that people painted him to be of which at the time was a cruel and condemning GOD that sent people to hell if they didn’t obey that was a scare tactic. Believe me GOD judges no one. He can not because he/she does not have such trait. A SPIRIT! Only the most pathetic and misinformed believers would actually think this loving of god of theirs is going to cast people into hell simply because they couldn’t believe in an ancient text written by less educated, superstitious men. Silverwings asks you to read the bible, and she is right. Because if you have half a brain you would relaize 99% of it is all allegory, and none of it depicts actual history. I think most rational believers (at least the ones I know) just believe, and leave the judgement of others to god. Even the catholic church has given up on the idea that the only way to heaven is though the sacraments.

It is only the more mindless lemmings of the fundamentalist movement who are willing to to usurp their god’s power by providing their own version of eternal damnation on non-believers. Let me try to provide you with my take on the world and Christianity. I am Catholic by the way, which is still part of Christianity :) I’m curious about why christians believe so strongly that everyone except them are going to “hell” because they havent accepted jesus into their life?

Because Jesus came to earth and told us, point blank, that the ONLY way to the Father, is through HIM. That’s it, in a nutshell.

God isnt “all loving” if he kills people everyday and sends the majority of people to “hell” is he? God doesn’t kill people… People, time, and accidents kill people. God is All Loving, he sent his ONLY begotten Son to die for your sins,,, its just a matter of whether you love him back to accept that sacrifice…

Since you seem to explain everything with “god did it” or “god is testing your faith” then how can you say that babies who died shortly after birth were killed “for a reason” what reason. I don’t explain everything with “God did it” rather, “God only knows”

And did every person in the entire world go to “hell” before christianity existed because they were not a christian? That is a great question. I don’t think so, here’s why… God relieved Himself to Abraham, after the disconnection with his Ancestors (Adam and Eve, and the bunch). When he did, he said, that HE was the God of the Hebrews… Not of the entire world. He gave the world that chance, but like we said, the Ancestors threw that away. In Jesus, that is when he wants to be the God of All AGAIN! How sweet of him!!!

And if adam and eve were the first to people on earth why are there different races if people? People change… just like you don’t look exactly like your mom and exactly like your dad. We never rule out how environment can change the features of people. as they become a people.

well I am proud athiest, and dont beleive in any god however, the chrsitian “god” who so many people choose to beleive in in hell-bent on killing evryone for sinning against him. if those people took the time to read a real bible, theyd soon find out that he purposly “killed” so many people he suposedly created because they sinned against him and were talking about the most stupid and rediculous sins too no one would kill someone or send them to “hell” for masterbating and even if you murder someone all you have to do is repent, want to be saved and then all is forgiven complete load of bull if you ask me as for the dinosaur bones, no god has nothing to do with dinosaurs there bones are lying in the ground because they all died out, why? scientists arnt 100%sure about that yet, but it has nothing to do with god or a flood a change in temperature is a more likley reason why majority of them died and some cratures like crocodiles, birds and a lot of sea creatures survived and have evolved today as for adam and eve, I beleive its 100% crap if adam and eve really did populate ther planet then there children practiced incest by having sex with each other which would mean more people thanthere are now would have deformities and that were all related, and that were all practising incest nothing in there bible makes any sense and they cant explain anything exept with “faith” and by saying “god did it” also christianity is not the first religion, there have been many other religions that all worship some thing that they beleive created anything because when science doesnt exist, thats the only thing that would explain anything they dont undrestand as for the other religions, they focused more on the dead going to a sacred place or a special place so they buried things along with them to help them in the afterlife most of the religions beleived in an afterlife, so theyd have special customs they do when someone dies to get them there
