Why do they ground us?

Parents ground their kids to teach them a lesson, by going behind their back and taking your things back shows how immature you are, I can see why they ground you. Maybe you should take a second and see what the problem really is and realize they’re just being parents.

THAT’S why they ground you. Take a look at all of your comments and don’t say that they don’t sound ignorant. See the grounding from your parents’ point of view. Because I sure do.

it sounds to me like you haven’t learned anything from your punishment, and view it as just another way for adults to exert control over kids. the whole punishment deal is meant for you to learn that there are repercussions for things that you do. if you are just blowing it off as no big deal- what kind of lesson are you learning from that?

the whole philosophy here is for you to take responsibility for your mistakes, and learn to not make the same mistake again. that comes with maturity.

be glad you are only getting grounded, back in the day there was usually a thick leather belt involved in my discipline.
