Why do parents ground me so much?

Everytime I do something bad my poarents ground me. 2 years ago I got grounded for a month just cause I didint want to go swimming?!. I mean I no they try to disipline me but this is too far

omg my parents are the same way I got grounded for a mounth for not getting in the pool at my friends b day party cause I didnt want to be there I wanted to be with my boyfriend and I got grounded for it and like I get yelled at for the simplest reasons I hate it but I dont know why eigther I just try to deal with it but I always end up yelling back at them and get grounded for attitude I hate it gosh
