Why do some believe atheism is also antichrist?

To a lot of Christians ‘antichrist’ means anyone who puts a damper on their desire for a world wide Christian theocracy, and being an atheist is even worse than being religious but not Christian, because it undermines superstitious ideas altogether and not just a particular brand of superstition.

No not for republicans, but for anyone who knows his true agenda. And if you are an atheist you can not beleive in the antichrist. Regardless of good or evil, the Antichrist is still a theistic idea and A-theist aren’t to concerned with those types. To beleive in the Antichrist you must be theist. And if you are refering to satanic atheist well the Christians made those up, to scare you into beleiving. To be satanist you must also be theist. No god = no devil

it’s said the antichrist will bring the world to peace and joy. But then realize, he had brought the world to peace, not God, so he fancies himself better and demands to be worshiped as God. it’s also said he’s to fight in an epic battle against Jesus
