Why did this happen after I drank water?

Did you feel nauseated or have any visual episodes like seeing stars, snow or tunnel vision? If so, you may have been dehydrated and/or under nourished. Make sure you are eating something with good carbs, protein and fat about 45 minutes before you work out. Maybe you drank the water too quickly. It may sound odd but when you are dehydrated your body can only handle small sips of water. Gulping down an entire bottle will make you sick and won’t do much to help your dehydration because you will either throw it up or pass it too quickly. This is even worse when the water is cold. I know having a full bladder doesn’t mix with gymnastics but if you drink about a cup an hour in sips while exercising it will probably be enough.

Then again, it may not have anything to do with your gymnastics or water. If you typically do this without such symptoms occurring, you may want to consider other factors. I feel this way if I eat certain foods like msg or sweetened alcohol. I sometimes get a tension headache feel this way after working out my traps.
