Why are 'taxes' constantly pushed but not 'solutions'?

Answer #1

Because the government cannot take any action with funding. If the government has a proposal to solve a problem, it must have the funding to carry out that proposal. Since money doesn’t just fall out of the sky (as in Bushonomics), that requires tax revenue. So every time you hear a solution, you’ll see a tax proposal.

Walter Mondale was a poor candidate for president, but I think one interesting thing about him was that he was honest with the American people that he would raise taxes if elected. Not promise them lowered, and THEN raise them, like Bush Sr.

Answer #2

Again amblessed asks a loaded question. Are you suggesting that taxes can’t be a solution? You are treating these two things as if they are diametrically opposed. The dems are offering many solutions, but of course the knuckle draggers on the right resort to obfuscation to make it sound like the dems want to do nothing but raise taxes for absolutely no reason. Well I would rather pay a little more in taxes and not have our economy going down the toilet due to deficit spending never before seen, and certainly never seen in a democratic administration. The only ones who will be paying more in taxes after Obama gets elected, will be the bush’s base, the super wealthy. The ones who were hurting so much that Bush had to give them a tax break, while leaving the middle class and poor twisting in the wind.

Answer #3

A rather general question. Do you have a specific example of what you are asking about.

Answer #4
