Why airlines are charging for food and luggage why the dont raise the ticket like 15 or 20 bucks more instead and then everybody is happy I think that would be a better idea I dont know why they didnt think about that.
Most of the major airlines are broke. High fuel prices, poor customer service, and massive logistical problems have cost the airlines dearly and they need to find ways to make money.
They want to make it seem like prices haven’t gone up. If they tack on other fees when you arrive, then it’s easier for them to make it look like the airline ticket price is still the same as it used to be…eg, a lot of people shop their fares online, etc.
To me, it smacks of deceptive advertising, but it probably doen’t technically violate the law, which is why they get away with it.
