Who to follow, my mind or my heart?

My boyfriend is thinking about staying in the army for another year. Keep in mind that he still has to talk to his commanding officer about if he can stay or not. My mind is telling me that I need to support him in whatever it is that he is wanting to do, but my heart is screaming at me to beg him to stay and come home like he originally planned. What should I do?

If you really love him you will do whatever is best for him. He might feel like he needs to help out more and if you beg him to stay home then at some point if you breakup (I am not saying it will happen but there is always a chance, even in marriage) he will resent you, for making him stay and making him come home and I don’t think you will want that weight on your shoulder
