You can’t compare those two my dear. A table - you can watch someone make. We know that someone made it because we have seen it be done. We know that it takes a person to put boards together and nails to make this table. The sun rising - is the result of the earth spinning on it’s axis, and your part of the word being in the direction of the sun. Have you not been to school? Do you really think the sun rising is some magical event? Go to science class and pay attention. Geez.

What kind of God, sits back as women and children get raped, murdered, abused. Please tell me how he is so freakin kind.

what man can create the world in 6 days…? what man can raise from the dead…? what man can conceive a child without intercourse…? the bible (to me) is a book full of stories. it was written by men who saw prophecies through their own eyes. if I were to witness an incidence and you saw the same thing, our stories would be similar yet different too. I’ve went to catholic schools for 9yrs then decided it wasnt for me. at such a young age I was forced to believe in things that I didnt even have a choice in. our society finds comfort in looking at this man for guidance. why? because when times are too hard and you have nothing/no one else..he’s the only one keeping you going. others find that by questioning this God makes you only believe in yourself even more, that the only person who will make your life better is yourself.

Open-minded thinkers can at least acknowledge OTHER potential gods, that are JUST as likely/unlikely to exist as the Christian one. Of which there are many deities that don’t require the same ‘’worship me or burn in hell’’ requirement, that the Christian god demands. Pascal’s Wager suggests that either the Christian god exists, or NO gods exist… truly a standpoint for ignorant, arrogant people.

Instincts are the result of evolution. Animals, including humans, have the instincts and behavioral traits they do because they have been favored through natural selection, I.e. those traits have improved survival. Creation, on the other hand, has no explanation for instincts other than, God wanted it that way…

Best I can tell, believers use a lot of imagination when they try to link current events to Bible prophecy. If you are going to list prophecy as evidence of the Christian God than you are going to have to come up with something concrete.

Jesus = If he even exsisted - a man who was tortured for nothing.

God is creator of the universe, and Jesus is God in the flesh.

I never said he didn’t exsist. Jesus could have very well exsisted and been crucified. I just dont believe that he was God’s son, and I dont buy the whole story.

Well no one knows whats out there or what is true. So why spend all your life worshipping something that might not even be true!! For me, God is imaginary. There is no scientific evidence there is a God, and until that changes I remain firm in my opinion.

I think Jesus may have existed, but I don’t believe that he was the son of God, or that he performed any actual miracles. My best guess is that he was a prophet who had mastered the art of persuasion.

In the Judeo-Christian tradition, God started out as a regional deity for the Hebrews, who brought about the conquest of Canaan and engaged in contests with other cultures’ deities and kings (winning, of course). By the time the first books of the New Testament were being written, God was seen as a merciful, benevolent and all-knowing deity. God’s evolution can be clearly seen by reading the entire Bible.

Jesus is comparible to Robin Hood, or King Arthur. He may have existed, but his life has been greatly embellished to the point where legend is fused with reality. Or he may simply be a symbol of Judean struggle against Roman rule in the 1st century AD.

He didn’t give his son to me, because I dont believe in him. My opinion on his character is NOT irrelevant. If I am to believe in some mystical being, I would atleast believe in a good and humble one. Not one that sends people to hell to burn for an eternity. Not one who condemns people for being in love with the same sex.

You have your beliefs and as I said before, that’s great for you. More power to you. The only reason why I argue with you is because you are trying to force your beliefs on others, tell them they are wrong. Religion should be a personal thing. What if she is wrong? That does not mean that she doesn’t live a good life, help others, and do right. You can still be a good person and not believe in God. If your God is so great and humble as you like to say he is, why wouldn’t he accept people who may not have beleived in him, but have lived their lives right. Please tell me. The way you are talking is making God sound vengeful and hateful, like he is wanting to spite people and send them to hell. If that’s how God is, I’m glad to not be a follower of his. I dont mind people having their religion and their faith, now when you push it on people and turn into a bible thumper. That’s when people get aggrivated on here. Seriously. You asked a question. Your going to get reply’s from all types of different beliefs and backgrounds. There is no proof in religion. Religion = Faith. Faith can not be proved. It’s simple definations look it up. You can not say you have proof. You can say that you believe though.
