Who has become a mother at 14 or 15?

Has anyone here had a child at 15 or younger? What was it like? School? Parents? Family? Friends? I have seen the shows on tv but it seems like they are trying to give it too much of a negative image. I want a first hand story.

Answer #1

im 15 and I have a baby girl. the shows do give a negative look on it. I mean its hard work believe me but its worth it. any questions, message me.

I can’t relate to that other than by saying that my mother was in a situation similar to that, she was married at 15 and my dad was 21 had her first child at 16. In her case things were pushed along at that pace to get her away from an abusive drunk of a father. It was tough on them but she had to drop out of school to raise a family, it was hard. But in the end things turned out alright, we didn’t have the best of anything growing but they did the best they could. She eventually got her GED and works her butt off almost everyday. We have talked and she realizes she missed out on so much, but she doesn’t regret it. She and my dad have been married for 39 years. She admits that she has made a lot of mistakes, but she didn’t give up and did her best with us. And myself at least, I love her dearly no matter what I may not have liked or agreed with.

I had my first baby at 15. it was really hard. I got hoeschoolingand lost contact with my friends. I got married at 16 and we are still married. but when you havethe first one at that age it is really complecated.you don’t get tod s much stuff as you did before the pregnancy.

Answer #4

I think the tv shows really did try to give it a negative side to all of this “baby mamma dramma” lol im not pregnant or have a kid but I have many friends who are 15 and have kids already or either pregnant. 6 of my friends have kids and 2 are prego lol they all go to school there parents are supportive they have enough money because they have jobs there parents kinda rub it in there face that there young mother some of them have better grades than I do and im not even a drugg user or drink alcoholic beverages lol and they have all there friends

BUT dont forget that everyone is different than others and families arent always the same

Answer #5

…wont go into it now

but im 17 and pregnant right now..(long story) and yeah they do give negative images …like it isnt true I skipped junior year and have a full ride to twu(texas womans university) and I’ve talked to them..and weve settled out and I dont even have to live on campus…people think age determines whether or not youre a good parent when it does…I see more kids in foster homes from abuse from older parents than teen parents…I mean its all just about the person..im ready and I know I am…

Answer #6

not really;; thats what people see and think;;cause most people dont even have their grandparents around like that…people asume the worse and think the worse..but if you have no first hand experience,u wouldnt know.

Answer #7

They are not trying to give it too much of a negative image. That’s how it is. It’s probably even harder for others than those kids on the shows like 16 and Pregnant.

Answer #8

Usually the teen parent isn’t a parent at all to their child. The grandparents are doing all the work.
