Hello! I was in your same position when I was a sophomore. My English professor had told me about a program called College Summit, so I decided to check it out. I wound up becoming chapter president and it had taught me how to prepare, and when to prepare for college after the leaving of high school.

The answer is: Start now (:.

Start with contacting colleges of your choice and asking them when their open houses will be scheduled.

Look into scholarships! There are thousands out there!

It’s better to be too early, than to be too late.

Try contacting a business that is close to your major of choice and see if you could job shadow them for a day or so. Come up with interview questions in which, why or why not they enjoy their job.

Keep up to date with your ACTS and SATS. Take them over and over to better your score. This could increase your chances (:.

See about getting all of your high school credits in a semester early within your senior year. Sometimes if you start college before you walk at your high school graduation you will receive something called a high school scholarship and this will pay up to so many credit hours during your first semester.

I wish you luck, Porsena

Hello! :) I’m and 8th grader and I’m already starting to think and prepare for college:D

Yes, our teachers tell us to start now! It’s never too early.

At my school, I have this class where it’s for people who want to go to college. And they are helping us have a better understanding of what great colleges out out there and they are helping us find out the career we want to do. :) We go on tours to colleges and stuff too. The answer to your question is indeed to start now :) Cruise the web. Find what interests you. Study, learn, be happy. Talk to teachers. “The more you learn, the more you earn!” ;D Make sure your high school transcripts look good.

You start to think about all this stuff now. You apply the beginning of your senior year (or if you’re smart, get your applications mostly filled out by the summer before your senior year). The deadlines are usually in december/january, so you want to have sent everything in by november or so. If you want to apply to early admission, you’ll have to have completed the process even earlier.
