When should I start potty training my baby?

I just got her to give up the bottle… Now I need to potty train her but I dont know how. Oh by the way she going to be 2 years old in about a month. Is that too young to start training her?

Answer #1

that is the best age to start is 2 years old. you need to take her in the bathroom with a potty and show her how everything works.

Answer #2

go ahead the earlyer the better tell her when you have to go “potty” and tell her do do the same

Answer #3

no, kids are very smart and she’ll learn, but not that quick. you could train her but still keep her diaper on… I’ll say that she’ll start to say, I gotta go poopy or something. thats the first stage that’ll she’ll start to get it. but sometimes shell go in her diaper.

Answer #4

When she’s ready.. you’ll know. Does she know when she’s wet her diaper? Because that’s a sign that she doesn’t like to be wet and potty training should start soon. Babies are amazing little people, and they’re so much smarter than what we give them credit for. Just start showing her what you do and how you do it. Get her a toddlers potty chair, and let her sit on it while you’re going potty! lol But the best advice that I can give you, make it fun for her. Don’t get frustrated too easily, and when she’s ready, she’ll let you know. Each child is different, so there’s no set age to do this. Just give her some direction, but you have to let her lead the way!! many blessings

Answer #5

I potty trained my 2 and a half year old recently in a week he was so easy but my daughter isnt going to be as easy I think!!! good luck

Answer #6

not too young at all. Every child is different. My two boys were both out of nappies and using the toilet at 2. The trick is too make it fun for her, never pressure her and give her lots of encouragement and praise. Maybe try getting her a nice pink one and you could do something fun like everytime she goes in it you could put a little star sticker on it or something like that. Ask her regularly if she needs to do a wee or poo and tell her what a clever girl she is for using the potty when she does. There might be lots of times she sits there and does nothing, but still praise her for trying. Maybe even get two potties and put a teddy or doll on one and say, “ look teddy needs a poo in his potty now “ . There are lots of fun and imaginative ways you can encourage her, just stick with it , it will happen. Good luck :)
