Someone said above: ‘Islam and christianity have little difference’ - There is a HUGE difference - Christians know Jesus Christ to be the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Savior of mankind - in Islam He’s merely a prophet.

@ty: because the children usually follow the father’s religion…and islamically the mother doesnt really have a duty to the children…all the mother has to do is, carry the baby for 9months, have the baby, feed the baby and please her husband…the father has the duty to teach the children, take care of them, clothing them, blah blah blah…but mothers just do it(raising the kids) because they “feel” like its their duty or its just kind of a “motherly thing”…but these days mothers are “percieved” and “expected” to do a lot of household duties…rolls eyes

@gorakh: okay so you admit that theres ONE god…and islam is the only religion that believes in ONE god…so0o mayb you shud look into it…and YES…OFCOURSE god loves evry human being…its his creation…y wudnt he…he loves us more than anyone eva can…thats why we shud please him…I mean…shudnt we thank him for evrything hes done for us…for evrything hes given us…our eyes…our ears…our arms and legs..etc…THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE^^^

@ethmer:

well…I can tell you that the 5 pillars of islam are to

1)believe in ONE GOD,Allah, and that muhammad is the last prophet of allah, 2)to pray the 5 prayers 3)to fast in the month of ramadan 4)to give zakat(charity) 5)to make the pilgrimage to makkah (the hajj>>>totallly loved it btw^^)

but I suppose you already know that…or not??..hehe

and also theres the 6 pillars of IMAN(faith)

1)to believe in allah ( the ONLY god)

  1. his angels 3)his books 4)his prophets 5)the day of judgement 6)destiny-(allah knows evrything we do before we do it )

note- when I wrote his I mean allah(god)

@ameena: those videos are just REMINDERS…if you would like to learn more about islam…I suggest you watch shiekh khaled yasin’s dvd’s^^ or even yusuf estes(the known reverter who was once a priest^^^)…but if you go to like an islamic book store and buy any dvd about islam it should also be good…

“and islamically the mother doesnt really have a duty to the children…all the mother has to do is, carry the baby for 9months, have the baby, feed the baby and please her husband…the father has the duty to teach the children, take care of them, clothing them, blah blah blah…but mothers just do it(raising the kids) because they ‘feel’ like its their duty or its just kind of a ‘motherly thing’…but these days mothers are ‘percieved’ and ‘expected’ to do a lot of household duties…rolls eyes“ this is SO WRONG!! A MOTHER HAS THE RIGHT TO TEACH HER CHILDREN, TAKE CARE OF THEM, CLOTHING THEM AND PREPARING THEM FOR LIFE!!! BOTH PARENTS SHOULD BE ONE TEAM AND HELP EACH OTHER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER, AND I REALLY CAN’T FIND MEN WHO “TAKE CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN”, AND YES WOMEN CAN DO EVERYTHING WITHOUT A MAN! UNLESS SHE HAS A PROBLEM WITH DEPENDING ON HESELF!!! SOME MEN ARE GOOD, BUT SOME MEN AREN’T!! SO DON’T TELL ME, THAT THE HOUSBAND IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE CHILDREN, what if he hits the children day and night? should a woman just watch him and say: he’s doing his duty… and feel bad for her kids? she’s the one who had her kids, and she even loves them more than her housband! if you’re a muslim, I’m sure you heard of this: “heaven is under women’s feet” I heard it in my school, they call it a “hadeeth” (not sure) and the profet mohamed said this one!! I’m not a muslim, but I do think it’s right! women have rights in islam, while nobody knows, when I found out I got shocked that most muslim people don’t do what they should do in islam, you guys should pray 5 times a day, while some muslims NEVER pray!!! you guys should wear a scarf to cover your hair, but HERE in Saudi Arabia, girls DON’T!! how the hell are people supposed to become muslims if they can’t even see muslim people doing the right things?? I’m confused!! cause if I become a muslim no one around me is going’ to help me, cause no one around me is a real muslim!!!
I’m so sorry about everything I said, but I’m just shocked!!

Hey patricia, this situation happens a lot these days..where the family doesnt accept what one of the members is intending to do such as converting…theres also many incidents where an individual has already converted to islam but like the family doesnt know…so0o they have to like break it to them sooner or later…and thats pretty hard…

YES, a muslim MAN can marry a NON-MUSLIM woman but the children have to follow the father’s religion, that is ISLAM^^…and btw thats actually a VERY GOOD plan where you marry as a christian and convert to islam when your married^^…im totally on your side…u shud TOTALLY to that…=)…and once your muslim inshallah, you can open the door to islam for your parents^^

I have been raised in a Christian environment my whole life. I am 20 years old now and growing up, I had a lot of questions about my religion. There was always things that didnt quite add up. But after reading about Islam, I feel it is really answering a lot of those questions. My thing is, my family is strict Christians. If I become muslim, they will look at me like I’m a trader. I was also reading about Islamic marraige, what if I find a nice muslim guy who wants to marry me and they dissagree? How would that work out? Could I marry as a Christian and then convert?

Answer #7

“okay…firstly…islamically speaking…your mum…as you say shes a muslim…scrathes head… isnt actually allowed to marry a non-muslim man…but a muslim man can marry a non-muslim woman…for obvious reasons…I dunno if your mum is religious muslim but yeah…hhaha…just letting you know…”

what are these obvious reasons?

Answer #11

I think people really want to know the basic tenets of your religion. I think it is the misunderstanding of the differences and lack of understanding of the similarities that creates so much of the religious tension between religions.

Answer #14

Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords.

He is the one and only true God, and there is none other.

Christians love all people no matter what religion they profess or what they’ve become in this life.

We are God’s missionaries here on earth, to tell everybody we can about Him and what He wants us to know and do (from the Bible only).

If you want more information about God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost, you can go to a religious site called: AmazingFacts.com. Here you’ll find all the answers you are seeking.

They have videos to watch on all different subjects, and Bible studies, and much more. God bless :)

Answer #15

there is little difference…I guess were kind of talking links…like just the notion that christians and muslims believe in jesus is a link between the religions…its only that muslims and christians believe jesus had a different role to mankind…and jesus is NOT JUST a prophet…he was a miracle baby…he was the messiah…jesus is MORE THAN JUST a prophet in islam…hes one of the 25 well known prophets…and there was a lot of prophets back in the days…were not just talking hundreds we’re talking thousands…

Answer #16

okay…firstly…islamically speaking…your mum…as you say shes a muslim…scrathes head… isnt actually allowed to marry a non-muslim man…but a muslim man can marry a non-muslim woman…for obvious reasons…I dunno if your mum is religious muslim but yeah…hhaha…just letting you know…

firstly which religion do you lean more to and prefer??…and from my perspective I STRONGLY suggest that you follow the ISLAMIC religion^^^…

if you have any questions about ANYTHING feel free to ask^_^ ;)

Answer #17

“There is a HUGE difference - Christians know Jesus Christ to be the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Savior of mankind - in Islam He’s merely a prophet.”

And yet, despite your efforts to draw this huge line in the sand between Christiand and Muslims, their concepts of morality relating to every day life are very similar. So are their views on several theological issues.

In the early days of Islam, the religion spread rapidly through the Christian world for several reasons. One reason was that by then (7th century AD) the Christian world had become very fragmented in its beliefs, disagreeing over everything from the nature of Jesus to the role of Mary to the validity of certain gospels, and also over which bishops had which authority over what.

Around came Islam, which said to people: “the early followers of Jesus got it all wrong. He never said he was divine, he just came to share certain truths about how we should live, like any prophet”. For many Christians, this made sense, especially as they watched how divisive the churches had become over who Jesus was. Of course over time, Islam too would become very divided, but by then most of the major centers of Christianity were already under Muslim control.

It should be clear to Muslims and Christians by now that neither group is going to convert wholesale to the other side. The question now becomes about how to live together in peace. Christians and Muslims have lived together in peace in a few societies, like Spain under the Convevincia and also the Ottoman Empire. I also hope the West can now become one of those places.
