When I shrink my gauges?

If I want to start shinking my gauges, should I do it size by size or can I just let them close up on their own? I’m at a 2g right now and I’m just tired of having them, and I’ve never had any complications.

unfortunantly for you there never going to fully close up thats what most kids who get them done dont realise that the hole can never fully close up once you make it too big it will heal, but it wont grow new skin to fill in the hole the best you can do is try and go down size by size. which will leave a hole still but it will be a nice round hole instead letting them close up by themselves and the skin might go lumpy so again, the hole is never going to fully close up, the only thing that can do that is surgery, which would leave scars so you will have holes there for the rest of your life they will heal, they just wont look that nice sorry to dissapoint you

For me personally I had my ears gauges 3 times on each side. And mine closed up completely. So honestly it’s all about the persons body.
