What's wrong with my daddy's foot?

Yesterday, he called me over to take a look at his foot . ( im 13 & he knows i want to be a doctor when i grow up ) so when he showed me it, it looked completely black ! ( we’re african-american though ) his leg is light skinned but his foot was completely black & his toe was black & yellow . & somehow, it looked like it kept growing & was going past the nail . i told him it looked infected & to go see a doctor . . well i think you should know that he has diabetes & they had to cut off his foot/leg 2 years ago . . could this be the same thing ? Black skin is usually a sign of dead tissue…he may have gangrene. I know he likes the idea of you being a doctor, but, my dear, you’re not even close to being able to diagnose him yet - tell him to see his actual doctor…this could lead to amputation.

Answer #2

I’m sorry if I scare you, but I think he should go to the hospital immedaitely. That doesn’t sound good and the quicker he gets treatment the better.

Answer #3

This could be due to diabetes but it could also be sepsis (blood poisoning). Doesn’t sound good at all by what you write. Make him go to a doctor. Fast.
