What is wrong; why is my foot so swollen?

Last night I got a new tattoo on my ankle and right after I got it, I had to walk to get home, and that was about a mile walk. I’m not skinny, but not too big. And now, when I woke up, my foot was swollen. My ankle isnt as swollen, its mainly the top of my foot, like puffing up. Why is this happening? Should I make a dr. appt? Or is there like over the counter water pills that would work? Is it from the walking right away after the tattoo? Or something else?
